Banana and Lemon Smoothie

Serves: 1-2
Ingredients
250 ml water
1 teaspoon of lemon zest
2 teaspoons of lemon juice
1 banana
2 tablespoons of oats
Handful of ice cubes
Optional: shredded coconut as a topping and/or honey to make it more sweet
Method
Cut the banana into slices and add it into a blender or mixer together with the water, oats, lemon juice/zest and ice cubes.
Blend/mix for around 30 seconds.
(Optional) Now add honey as an option to make it sweeter and mix well until smooth.
Serve it with shredded coconut (optional) as a topping for a crunchy bite.
Summary
You can drink this banana and lemon smoothie as a pre-workout drink, but you can also consume it on a rest day, or as a post-workout shake, or as a snack.
As an alternative, you could replace the water with oat milk or another dairy-free alternative such as almond or soya milk.
